Hi! I'm Piper. I am a vocal coach in San Diego.

I've been performing in musical theatre since I was 14, starting in junior theatre programs and later on professional stages at regional theatres around San Diego. I know what it feels like to stand in the audition room, and I know what directors are looking for.
I studied music theory and performance at Grossmont College (AA in Music), and I'm a certified Speech Level Singing instructor, a method that builds a strong, healthy, flexible voice without strain. I've been coaching students for 18 years, and in 2010 I started Piper's Vocal Studio, where I work with junior high and high school singers on technique, confidence, and audition preparation.
I've also worked in the studio as a demo vocalist, recording songs for writers to present to record labels. That experience sharpened my ear and showed me what it takes to perform at a professional level, and I bring that to every lesson.
Working with young singers
Most of my students are in junior high and high school, and I love this age. It's when a singer's voice is changing, their confidence is still forming, and a good coach can make a lasting difference.
I started in junior theatre myself, so I understand the nerves, the pressure to be perfect, and the fear of being cut. My lessons are a place where students can try things, make mistakes, and sing out without being judged.

Song choices, cuts, and preparation, so students walk into the room knowing what to expect.

Every student grows at their own pace, and I'll always tell parents where their child is and what comes next.
